Stay at the Cornucopia Hotel. It's an old farm house(s) turned into a hotel. They have rooms overlooking the gorgeous valley in Gozo. Lovely staff and pool area. It's a little isolated since it's in a smaller town/village, but if you are renting a car, its between Ramla Bay (a nice sandy beach) and the capital, Victoria/Rabat, both worth visiting.
