Travel Tips from people who've been to Mauritius
My most absolute favourite 'holiday' destination to date so far. Absolutely had a blast & going back in January for another month!!!! We stayed at the Dinarobin Resort beneath the base of the Le Morne Mountain. Bloody wicked resort loved it to death. So much to do, fantastic restaurants, did something every second day & chilled out on the beach & spa every other day. Love it love it love.... More upmarket but hey why not you only live once!!!! Good tip? (0) Such a small island... so beautifull, in the december - january season! A lot to do and a lot to visit. In the north is the weather and climat very nice. 3h difference with europe.
To do some shopping, you go to 'Gran Bay' touristic or to 'Port Louis' where you can find almost everything.
Mauritius is also known for their famous extra big beautifull hotels of high quality.
There aren't that much farmacies and they do have other products.
Good tip? (0) Don't forget to visit local supermarkets (not the Port Louis market, that one focusses on tourists ...) to buy a truck load of spices (much cheaper then in europe or anywhere else) You can rent a driver/guide for one day, but these people take you to all kinds of expensive shops where they get a commission, tell them before you leave that you are not interested in that kind of tour (unless of course you like to be ripped off ...)
