Good tip? (+1) Ile Cocos, Rodrigues Island, Mauritius This is a small sand island that is a little more than an hour west of Rodrigues. Ile Cocos is a nature reserve so there is no overnight camping and you need to have a permit to visit. I really enjoyed walking around the island along it's paths. For some reason it seemed to me that colours were just a bit more intense here. If you do go to Rodrigues island, Ile Cocos is a great little day trip. Good tip? (0) Mauritius, Mauritius Don't forget to visit local supermarkets (not the Port Louis market, that one focusses on tourists ...) to buy a truck load of spices (much cheaper then in europe or anywhere else) You can rent a driver/guide for one day, but these people take you to all kinds of expensive shops where they get a commission, tell them before you leave that you are not interested in that kind of tour (unless of course you like to be ripped off ...) Good tip? (0) Mauritius, Mauritius Such a small island... so beautifull, in the december - january season! A lot to do and a lot to visit. In the north is the weather and climat very nice. 3h difference with europe.
To do some shopping, you go to 'Gran Bay' touristic or to 'Port Louis' where you can find almost everything.
Mauritius is also known for their famous extra big beautifull hotels of high quality.
There aren't that much farmacies and they do have other products. Good tip? (0) Verdun, Mauritius Island, Mauritius C'est un haut lieu d'histoire et un symbole de paix. Good tip? (0) Bradt Travel Guides |
