Acapulco is the original and largest beach resort in Mexico. It is located along the Pacific coast and attracts over 5 million visitors per year.
Acapulco is located around an impressive bay and a lush jungle backs the city. This is a place that is primarily visited by package tourists, so there are lots of clubs and nightlife to cater to the crowds. Despite its popularity though, the size of the great beaches means that the crowds aren't overwhelming. You can also see the cliff divers at La Quebrada, and take an excursion to play with the dolphins.

Travel Tips from people who've been to Acapulco de Juarez
  19229For me it was a disappoinment of the year. From the very begining it was a disaster - sultry and stinking air took me back to the bus. I was there only two days and I felt like walking dollar all the time. Be prepared for a standard trick with menu in restaurants; if you ask for an English one, no price will be shown. However, Acapulco was on my must-see list. Good tip? (0)  0134As a foreigner be extremly careful walking Acapulco's streets at night, especially drunk. Policemen could "frisk" you at any time "looking for drugs" and later you will find yourself without money left. Rather don't take too much money with you when you're out clubbing and definately try to get a cab back to your hotel. Good tip? (0)  002A pesar de todo acapulco sigue siendo el lugar preferido para vacacionar por ser un lugar lleno de vida, con tantas actividades durante el dia como por la noche y para toda la gente, la unica recomendacion para ir al puerto es no ir en temporada alta.
