Few travelers choose to stop at Saltillo when traveling to Mexico, and those that do usually only make a brief stop to see the Museo del Desierto. Other places in the area such as Monterrey may be more interesting to explore. If you do travel to Saltillo, please take some time to tell us about what you saw in this Saltillo travel guide.

Monterreal

Nestled in the mountains, approximately 54km from Saltillo, is the gorgeous Monterreal resort. Experience the outdoors by participating in a variety of activities, such as horseback riding, hiking, golf, fishing, tennis, ATVs, and skiing. Make it a day trip, or book one of their lodges and escape from the rest of the world for a while.

La Casa del Caballo the best steaks I've ever eaten. I must confess the service is great and Americans love the spot. Downre nice as well, nice town and splendid weather in summer due to the altitude and dry weather.
Also dont forget to visit Cuatro Cienegas its a small town located in the middle of the desert where you will find beautiful  water springs filled with crystal clear waters.
PLEASE DO NOT USE SUN TAN LOTIONS NOR SUN BLOCKERS it POLLUTES the ECOSYSTEM.

Empanadas del Merendero (bread filled with carmel and pecan nuts -irresistible-)

Accesing to Saltillo (Iata SLW) is fairly easy from MexDF, Monterrey (MTY) Houston (HOU) there is one flight connecting HOU everyday, there are 4 flights to MXC and Monterrey is 45 min away which is served by several flights from US, Canada and Europe.

Not much happening in Saltillo, but if you do stop by and crave something to eat look up a restaurant called "Pour Le France", AKA "El Purla". Do not expect French cuisine, the menu is actually typical Mexican food, heck knows where the name came from.
