Oaxaca State Travel Guide

There is a really fantastic new organization called Fundacion En Via (www.envia.org) that is running microfinance tours to help women living around Oaxaca get out of poverty.  You meet with local women who are applying for their loans and then En Via uses 100% of the groups' tour fee to give them women interest-free microloans. 

It is a phenomenal way to get to connect with local women and get a very inside look at life in Oaxaca, and also a concrete way to give back.

The Hidden Paradise. Though nowadays already it's not a virgin beach as it was before, you still enjoy these local peasures. On having come it's possible to feel the human warmth with which the locals treat the foreigners; the food even if one is not gourmet can eat anything and that is advisable to go to the pizzeria of the village where for little money one eats a great slice with 2 beers. And one of the most important attractions are the beautiful waves where you can surf on them (zicatela's beach) or even if you wants to lear it could be a possible option (carrizalillo's beach). There are specificl seasons where the waves are perfect to do tournaments and where people of many places of the world come to show their skills that they have acquired in the sea; this also attractive to see the girls to take the sun one to the overdraft, ultimately it's better than the paradise.

Beach Hotel Ines is a charming little hotel on the beach. If you are going to Puerto Escondido to surf, this is a great option. They have their own tropical pool with bar. So if you need to relax after a hard day of surfing, kick your feet up on one of their intertube style lounges and enjoy! They have a new and old hotel wing. The old is cheaper, but the newer has a sauna and hot tub at the top of the building. And at night, it's deserted. The staff is very helpful and will teach you Spanish if you ask.
