Travel Tips from people who've been to Northern Mongolia
I think this is reference to Amarbayasgalant Monastery.... built at the request of the Manchurian Emperor in the early 1700s it was one of a few (out of 978) monasteries that survived the brutal fate of the revolution in the 1921s till 1989.
Its operational to the old traditions, all monks live on site and its situated next to the Irvin River/Mountain Valley.
Ger to Ger Operates here in association with nomdic herders and the monastery itself: http://www.gertoger.org Good tip? (0) Ok, one of my personal favorite provinces of Mongolia is Selenge! Check out http://www.gertoger.org as we do also operate here!
