Modern city. I was really surprised, when i saw it's standard. Girls on streets are looking very sexy, and not allways covered. ACCOMODATION: Hotel Franc-Belgue. Outside of medina, price 180dr for double, iside orange tree garden. Interesting place to visit: Majorelle garden and Medina. Medina is really big and easy to get lost. U can find in Marakesh some shops with alcohol and night clubs. Air is not fresh there, and whole our stay temperature was really high, even in nighttime.

Be sure to visit the market square which is the essential market experience! Monkeys, snake charmers, dyed leather dripping, small streets, dangerous alleys, shouting vendors, good deals, bad rip-offs and the best almond milkshake this reviewer has ever had. The secret? Serve the camel-milk at room temperature. Enjoy! Oh, and remember to brush up on your French.

If you are in Marrakesh during a warm weather season, many of the hostels will allow you to pay a lower rate and let you sleep on the roof. They usually have pads that are comfortable to sleep on and getting to enjoy a night under the stars is really great. Until you are woken up at 5am with the first call to prayer...but thats all part of the fun of traveling.

We have been to Marrakech in november 2007 and it was super! Beautiful if you are willing to travel by yourself and only a map of the city. Different colours, scents and impressions everywhere in the old Medina. Relaxation in the Ville Nouvelle and the temperature is very hospitable this time of year. We have made a trip via Essaouira to the 'small desert' near the border of Algeria. Friendly people bus there are quite a few who just want to rip you off. Enjoy a holiday of freedom but beware of being scammed.

The best time to go is in April. It isn't too hot or cold.
