Praia do Tofo Travel Guide

Praia do Tofo is a delighful little holiday village about 20+ kilometres from Inhambane. the beautiful bay offers much opportunity for swimming, sunbathing or long strolls on the beach. It is a very popular resort for backpackers and surfers with ample suitable accommodation, including a hotel. More upmarket accommodation is also available.
The village has a little market, but also has various diving operators for scuba or snorkelling trips. There are interesting restaurants to visit for delicious seafood and local cuisine.

When walking in the local markets basically anywhere in mozambique where there is dirty sand, beach is fine. make sure you wear shoes at all times!!
i made the mistake of not wearing shoes because i had just come off the beach and got some worms under my skin in my feet. they are tiny and you only feel the itchiness a few weeks later. that not too dangerous but just annoying and itchy.

One "must do" here is snorkelling with the whale sharks. The gentle giants are beautiful and enjoy swimming beside the humans. Take one of those disposable waterproof cameras and enjoy your swim.
