What a wonderfully isolated place. Here you will feel you are at the end of the world. Go to Menen Hotel, it is the only decent option and has good views of the sea. From there hire a tour which will take all of 3 hours (max) to show you the island, included the semi-abandoned phosphate mines, the port, the so-to-speak capital. You can walk on your own to the parliament building and the other central places near the airport. The airport itself is a hoot, especially when the plane comes and all the kids are happily waving. By the airport there is a Chinese place making great dumplings. Yummy!

saddly nauru is sad and poor but all it needs is a little bit more of attention
