IF you may have chance to visit Arnhem in the summer time, you may find it interesting :
1. to visit the Openluchtmuseum or Open air museum. You may have a chance to taste the local food, to see how the cheese is made, how the local people sow and grow their vegetables, etc.
2. to try the famous dutch pannenkoek or pancake at a Pannenkoekenhuis. Unlike American thick narrow round pancake with maple syrup, dutch pannenkoek is made with various toppings, either salty or sweet. Good tip? (0) Burgers Zoo, a great Dutch zoo. where you can give yourself, your kids or friends a great time. seeing lot's of animals. you can spend up to 3 a 4 hours watching animals and learning all about them. they also have a couple of restaurants where you can enjoy some drinks and can have something to eat. (buffet concept) also 3 gift shops in the zoo. stuffed animals, statues, and other funny things Good tip? (0) A typical Dutch city with much to offer. History: critical battles during WW2. Culturaly: fashion capital of the Netherlands with Academy of Arts. Shopping: a nice centered shopping area (traffic free!) with lots of small boutiques as well as all the big brands.
