Planning a Trip to Limburg & Noord Brabant

When the sun is shining the best place for having a nice, cold drink is onze-lieve-vrouwe plein. This is a square in the centre of Maastricht which has lots of terraces surrounded by large trees. It has been nominated most beautiful square of the Netherlands a few times. So it is worth to just sit and enjoy the atmosphere.

Best, if you're into that kind of thing, time to visit Maastricht is during carnaval.  The whole city goes mental then, but in a good way.  Officialy it's the celebrate the beginning of Lent, the 40-day period before Easter, but now it's just a good excuse for a party :) 
The people are in the streets, drinking, laughing, singing, drinking some more, dancing etc. The atmosphere is outstanding, visit the Vrijthof and O.L. Vrouweplein and take in the local tradition. 
Oh yeah, bring a costume! 

Maastricht is a very nice city with lots to see. It is also conveniently located very close to both Belgium and Germany (you could ride a bike to either).

Maastricht is a fabolous student city. It is located at the south west of the Neederlands. The people there, otherwise from Germany, usually don´t use hemlmet while driving a motorcycle. A lot but a lot of bicycles, mainly University students. the University is really explesive compared to others in europe. But the language of teaching is english. Few police control while croasing the boarder to Germany.

Cool bars can be found at the Vrijthof in the city center.

Its close to the three-country-mark. where germany belgium and netherlands come together, quite fun, but besides the stuff around the city maastricht is a very fun city with loads of commercial streets and alot of romantic hotels!

Maastricht is a real nice small authentic village in the Netherlands where shopping is nice. Great food for a reasonable price check the restaurant La place in the VD shop (Vroom en Dreesman) at the 3rd floor.
