Travel Tips from people who've been to Groningen
Best city in the Netherlands, no wonder I live here. Good tip? (+1) Hmm.. a tip for Groningen. Well... if you like shopping then you should really go and visit the center of Groningen. They have really unique shops in some alleys, like lilly rose. If you step into that shop you will be amazed of the smell of soaps. But they have nice watches called s.t.a.m.p.s. You can combine your own watch by choosing one of the many coloured watchstraps and an clock, of which there are many different patterns. Also the market on Saturday is very nice. Escpecially the stand of a tapas shop, called "The basarsz". And if you are a reall cityhopper you should ascend the Martinitower, a churchtower and the highest building of Groningen aswell. If you reach the top, you will have an amazing view of Groningen! Good tip? (0) Groningen is in north Nederlands and is easy to reach by public transportfrom Amsterdam. From the main railway and bus stations, it only takes a few minutes to walk to the Vismarkt via the Werkmanbrug bridge and the Groninger Museum.
