Plants in Auckland
Auckland, North Island, New Zealand
When flying into Auckland International Airport (or any NZ International Airport) make sure you read your arrival card properly. It asks you to declare any food, plant or animal products you may be carrying. NZ is a group of islands and as such does not have some of the pests and diseases you get in other countries. NZ's biosecurity is prized and protected. If you fail to declare food etc, and you are found with something which is not allowed (ie apples, pears, pork etc) you will be hit with a NZ$200 fine - no excuse, no defence. If you're unsure the best bet is to declare - you may lose the apple but you won't get a fine as a 'Welcome to NZ' gift!
