  001We've been to the Coromandel Penisula about 2 weeks ago now and i liked it a lot. But you really need a decent car to see the best bits. Coromandel town is pretty quaint with a few nice cafe's that do a good breakfeast. Heading further north it gets really rugged and beutiful rough gravel roads with nothing but stunning crimson pohutukawa trees to keep you from going over the cliffedge. Just find the end of the road and enjoy the emptyness, the end of the world feeling. Good tip? (0)  004The upper east peninsula of NZ is the Coromandel. It's beautiful!!!! As anywhere in New Zealand, take it easy driving. If the sign says 25mph, go no more than 25. At 26, yer gonna die!!!! Do as much on a motorcycle as you can. The Holiday parks are cheap and easy to find. 99% of them are quite nice. O, go to "Hot Water Beach"!!! Good tip? (0)  0158A great summer beach scene - Coromandel township itself is a little alternative, but it's worth travelling over the hill to Matarangi, for million dollar beach homes of the rich, but not so famous.
