Travel Tips from people who've been to Gisborne
If you live in Auckland and want to visit Gisborne its a nice drive. On the way to Gisborne from Opotiki you have a choice to go left or right its nice to go through central plato and on the way back you can cover East Cape (the road runs along the seashore almost all the time, there are so many nice beaches and little towns), that might take a few days though...so if you don't have much time it might pay to go clockwise.

Absolut lohnenswert!

Gisborne is a city which claims to be the first to see the sun. Located on the east coast of the North Island it is a rural city with lots of fishing, surfing, sunbathing as well as farming, logging and orchards abound here. Quite a number of wine makers are based here as well. Definitely off the beaten track of international tourists.
