Miranda is a pretty little spot on the Firth of Thames - if you are into twitching then there is a famous naturist society based here.  Also check out the natural mineral hot pools - great place to relax and have a bbq, good cabins etc at the hot pools too and only 10 minutes away is the Kaiaua Pub which is always good for dinner and a drink or three!
