  003Interesting 'art-deco' architecture, a well known flower clock adjacent the beach, a popular country race-meeting at Wairoa (regular bus service from Napier on race days), a foot-path from the top of Clyde Road beginning at the side of 'Ben Lomond' (a large house with a 'widow's walk') down to the town. Unfortunately, the beach is all stones (once I spent my Christmas Day on that beach!). Good tip? (0)  058287Take a stroll down the massive beach, sit and have a drink in the pedestrianised area and take in the art deco buildings, probaby the best collective range of art deco outside of Miami. Attractive park with tall palms and flowers. Don't miss some of the impressive art deco buildings which are slighlty outside the town centre - get a map or check out the tourist information office. Good tip? (0)  022211Napier is a lovely city at the southern end of Hawkes Bay. The inner city was totally rebuilt after the 1931 earthquake and being situated on the ocean front a constant breeze blows through town. There are many places to eat and drink and there is are many places to grab a drink of three. Prices are more suitable for Auckland or Wellington, however a nice day out nevertheless. Good tip? (0)
