Piha is just the right place for you guys who wanna have a good surf in a beautiful landscape of rock formations. As its a small town close to Auckland you should mind travelling on weekend cause its full of weekenders from all over Northland. Separating the two main beaches stands a marvellous rock formation called The Lion Rock. Book your place on the local campground and while listening to Radio Piha enjoy the astonishing sunsets. Get your breakfast at the one and only Piha Store and while having your sweet doughnuts, krusty croissants and probably the best coffee outside of Italy, let your mind take the sound of the waves crushing on the beach.   See ya Jan

Piha is a beautiful beach away from the chaotic city! the drive is scenic and the beach isn't overcrowded much. Be careful in the surf as it can be rough and dangerous, usually there are lifeguards on the beach! You can climb the track to the top of Lion's Rock for a great view.. remember your jandals cuz the sand gets crazy hot!
