Travel Tips from people who've been to New Zealand
It is very hard to see all the sights of such a majestic place in just a few short days. So if you are planning on going to New Zealand- you can probably do the North Island in 2-3 days. However, when you go to the South Island you will need to take a couple weeks to hit everything if you are that kind of person like me. I like to see everything I can while Im there. SO take your time and dont' rush it when it comes to the Southern Kiwi Land! Enjoy the sights and take it all in. But make sure to hit Milford Sound because it will be the place where you want to take your last breath! Good tip? (0) Bring a sweater and some very warm socks. The sun may be shining (dangerously strong) and flowers may be everywhere, but it's still really cold (especially indoors). Central heating is not very common on the south island. Do all the crazy carnival rides and bungee stuff at your own risk Law suits don't exist, a lot of equipment is not well maintained, and as a result a lot of people (mostly tourists) die or are severely injured. The Island is absolutely gorgeous! Good tip? (0) If you're visiting from overseas, NZ is bigger than you expect. You can't drive round the lot in a week and expect to see very much. Many people end up missing the South Island because they didn't allow enough time. The South Island, especially the alps and Fiordland are spectacular. Also, Stewart Island is a gem that is worth visiting for a couple of days if you like nature. Good tip? (0)
