Travel Tips from people who've been to Picton
I was pleasantly surprised by Picton- we had a bit of a wait before catching the ferry back to Wellington, and were happy to find some decent pubs and a nice park by the water.
It's a very cute town and definitely not a bad place to be while waiting for the ferry.
Good tip?

Quaint little town usually driven through/past as you get off the Inter-Islander ferry.  If you are with friends though it can certainly be worth having a night relaxing and boozing with friends.  Some really nice spots to stay.

This is the town to get on the ship between the nord and south island of New Zealand. If you can then don't stay here, go to another village further up on the south island. Its more expensieve to stay here then in the village nearby.
