Affectionately known as the “Rock,” Niue literally translates to mean “Look! There’s a coconut!” The coral island is skirted by steep limestone cliffs with deep waters frequented by whales and dolphins and sea turtles just a stone’s throw away. In fact, from June to October, it’s possible for there to be more whales in town than tourists! Plenty of active outdoor activities await, including hiking, numerous cave exploration possibilities, golf or simple R&R.  In addition there's also snorkeling, deep sea fishing, and scuba expeditions to see the extensive coral formations and underwater sea caves. The pace is relaxed and friendly, representing the quintessential idyllic pacific island environment.
