Situated along the coast of Norway (and a stopping point of various cruiselines), Trondheim is considered the Norwegian centre of education, and is home to the Nidaros Cathedral - Norway's most significant church and the site of numerous coronations in the country's past.Due to the construction materials used to build houses in town and to the close proximity of the houses, Trondheim (as with many other Norwegian towns) has been devastated by various major fires throughout the course of the town's history. At one point, as much as 90% of the town was destroyed.
Travel Tips from people who've been to Trondheim
Beautiful cathedral and the ruins of the fortress, it's worth seeing. Good tip? (+3) Be sure to stop off at the restaurant between the mountain pass, not only is the view breath-taking, but the food is yummy. It's owned by a lovely couple, the wife is Moroccan! Like most eateries in Norway it isn't cheap, but compared to some places it's a bargain. Good tip? (+1) I love Norway, reminds me of home Petersburg, Alaska.
From Oslo, experience the old copper mines in Røros, the cathedral in Trondheim, Geirangerfjord, one of the fantastic Norwegian fjords. It's a must see!!! If you love seafood? You'll fit right in ;} Good tip? (0) Recent Updates for Trondheim
