Travel Tips from people who've been to Peshawar
Unlike Islamabad, Peshawar was very much 'real-life' Pakistan. Simply stepping out onto the busy, colourful streets was a new experience. Look out for the ornate, but overcrowded buses that throng the roads.
We visited historical Bala Hisar Fort, whose red stone facade towers over northwestern Peshawar City. We also visited the Khyber Pass, although I assume permission must be obtained before doing so. Good tip? (0) Peshawar was like to Pakistan, what the "Wild West" was to the USA. It was incredible... you could walk through the market place and buy anything... from livestock, fur, food, arms & ammunition, transport, and illicit stuff... yet, we could not eat meat on Tuesdays. Good tip? (0) Rasha kai bazaar is a good choice for those interested in buying eastern fabric for formal and bridal wear. Good tip? (0) Recent Updates for Peshawar
