Incredible! Need I say more? Volcan is beautiful. The cool temperatures during the day and the cold temperatures at night make you forget that you are in Central America! Volcan is a city on the side of the volcano Chiriqui. The best hotel there for sure is El Bambito, with a bargain at $80 a night in their suite rooms! A view of the mountains! Many activities and local businesses with drop dead low prices on everything from food to clothing. Who doesn't want an XXL large pizza for $5? Transportation is by bus only here. You can bring your own car but driving through this terrain, I rather leave it to the experts.

The cities are nice, but if you want to get away and camp for a while, Sortova is the spot. I have relatives that live there so camping is a breeze. The stars, wild animals, and perfect temperature make it the best spot in Panama. NOT expensive at all. You must have your own car if you want to travel around but I love walking on foot. The tobacco factory can be very annoying but besides that, you can walk from one side of Sortova to the other in less than an hour.

If you can take the mountain hike that goes over the mountain, it is a little rough but worth it. the eft path is less used thatn the right on you will see it when you get ther and don't bothe hiring a guide it isn't worth the money but give yourself time ti get back. once you thik you have gone to far keep going to the top of the ountain though and the views are well worth it.
