Encarnacion Travel Guide

Best Street Snack: Freshly Popped Popcorn There is an amazing restaurant in the main square. I forget the name but it is in the Lonely Planet guidebook, and somehow I remember it starting with a Z (could be way off) Also, it is where you base yourself to go to the ruins of Trinidad (amazing!!!) and Jesus (no continuing busses on Sundays to Jesus, thus we missed that one.) We arrived in town quite late and it was raining, but nevertheless walked further away from the bus station to get cheaper accomodation for the evening. (The ones near the station were quite a bit pricier than we had expected.)

If you go to Encarnacion you need to see las ruinas de Trinidad. It's easy to take the bus to this place that's a bit out of the city. Might be hard if you don't know any spanish though..
Nice and a rather cheap place to stay in is hotel germano or something like that right in front of the bus station in Encarnacion. It's also really cool to go over the boarder with the bus (very easy!) and see Posadas in Argentina. The center there is nice with lots of cool stuff to buy in the streets.
