A nice alternative or addition to the Machu Picchu is the Lares Valley Trek. Although the Inca Trail is nice, Lares will offer more culture. Enjoy a peaceful trek into remote and rarely visited areas of the Lares Valley with the spectacular backdrop of the Urubamba Mountains in the background. Visit with locals in their brightly colored clothing, llama shepherds and weavers. Definitely for trekker who want to get off the beaten path.
