Nice small city- very hot for almost whole year- the food is very very very cheap and tasty- ceviche, saltado, leche del tigre.... mmmm
No problem with money exchange- warning- it is very common to get fake money- check it very carefully. Few discos- not bad for this level of place. Cheap Taxi- (a lot of moto taxi).
People call lokal burdels- Chongo- you can be understood wrong if you say you want to go to restaurant- chongo is a place with prostitutes!!!
There is quite good situation with a transport- few companies have sleep buses- you go during the night, you get food. To go to Trujillo you pay about 150soles, to Lima (about 14hours) 240 soles.
In Piura the visit with doctor will cost almost allways 50 soles- not bad conditions.
