If you love old school churches, Iloilo has plenty of history for you to check out. Molo Church is my favorite... beautiful gothic architecture. As with a lot of churches and town squares, if you're a foreigner, beware of people who will try to swindle you into buying stuff. Innocent-looking kids and old ladies are especially good at this... before you know it you'll be walking away with a hundred pesos worth of rosaries.

Fantastic day trip from Manila. Lots of history pertaining to WWII including war memorial for the Pacific, Macarthur's car and statue "I will return". Bus trips and tour available to old US barracks.

now for those who loves history, this place is absolutely teeming with it. old churches, forts, ancient relics and religious icons. for those not familiar with philippine history, i sugest you read up, before visiting this place. it makes the trip all the more surreal. its like walking the streets of rome with the knowledge of ancient Christian history

Corregidor Island is a historical monument for Filipinos, particularly during the Japanese Occupation. Today, it is a tourist attraction for those who love both the nature and history. Visitors can enjoy first class accommodation, and even camp in the island's beaches. Ghost stories abound though about people who dies during the war continues to visit the island. That might be an adventure by itself.

When you visit Antipolo City, you will never miss visiting the Catherdral of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage. It is situated at the heart of Antipolo and is very accessible to all types of transportation. Best time to visit the place is on the merry month of May when they hold the May Festival when they usually have a lot of pilgrims coming from far away places to pay homage toThe Lady. They have a museum at the back of the cathedral that exhibits the history of the church, its construction and it also displays all the clothes and the jewelries of the image. Never miss on the foods that Antipolo is famous for, the " sumaka " su man, ma ngga, ka suy.
