Nowy Sacz, Malopolska Region, Poland
Nowy Sącz is a great home base for exploring the mountains of Poland. Pieniny National Park and the Tatras are very close, and easy to get to by car or bus. Make sure you bring some rain-clothes, as sometimes the weather in Poland can be unpredictable. Don't let that stop you though... the beauty is amazing!

Beautiful, wild place. When you're going there you must take with you warm clothes, strong shoes and raincoat - the weather in mountains is very variable.

Zakrzówek. If the weather is great, head down there with a backpack full of beer or wódka, and just chill out with the locals around this old, flooded, limestone quarry. No straż miejska that comes to harass you, so there are always parties going on in the summer, and beautiful cliffs one could climb on to, or jump off of. It's roughly 30 minutes by foot SW of the old town, roughly in between the old town and Ruczaj.
