The best restaurants are arround the main square called RYNEK. There you can find any type of restaurant including the typical Polish food. This is also a place you want to visit in the late evening, as it is the most beautiful and vibrant at that time. The other place to go to is Kazimierz if you are thinking of spending time in some good bars with decent locals :).

Zakopane, Malopolska Region, Poland
Kasprowy Wierch is said to be the most famous mountain top of Poland, and is almost 2000 meters high. You can reach the top by foot, or with a lift.

We chose to go with the lift and wanted to walk back down, but the queue was so long we didn't have time for it, so we bought a return ticket straight away.

The cable ride up takes about 15 to 20 minutes and offers beautiful sights. It is rather expensive though, and the waiting for tickets took us 3 full hours. So better go there early. If you don't plan on walking down or staying at the top that long, you can best by a return ticket straight away. People with such tickets get priority in going down, while people who buy a ticket down on top of the mountain have to wait for free places in the lift.

The lifts itself are very stable closed cabins on cables.
The view from on top of the mountain is magnificent. Absolutely brilliant. There are walking routes on the top, and paths that go back down. All marks indicate how long the walk would approximately take. If you have a return ticket however, you don't have hours of time. You must go back down after, if I remember correct, 1h30 or 2h00. So long walks out there can't be made.

However, just a stroll around this amazing scenery is worth the trip. A nice drink in the warm restaurant is a perfect ender of a visit to Kasprowy Wierch.

Malopolska Region Internet & Communications
Krakow, Malopolska Region, Poland
Polish people use a slightly different way to count using the fingers. Make a fist with your right hand with the palm facing your body, and start with your thumb as one. Two-open your pointing finger, three-middle finger and so on. So if you want to buy two breads, do not make the conventional peace sign; they wont understand! People in Krakow speaks very little English, you might have a lot of trouble in finding train station, post office, or even buying food in McDonald. So it's very useful to learn few Polish vocabs about places. Remembers 'W' in poland sounds like 'V'. So Krakow actually sounds like k-rah-coa-f rather than k-rah-coa-oo. Learning the pronounciation also helps alot when communicating to local people when asking direction. Places of interests are Rynek Krakowski, Wawel Castle, St Mary's Basilica and few attraction outside the city like Wieliczka Saltmine and Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camps. Guided tour to Auschwitz and Saltmine can be book at the Sukiennice building at Rynek Krakowski. If you would like kosher cuisine, you can find them almost everywhere around the city, especially in the Jewish Old Town, Kazimierz. There's 7 synagogues in this ghetto but you might have troubles finding some of them. For muslims, you can find NO halal food at all over here. Be prepares to eat vegetables or fish or bring your own food if your coming here. For 4 days I was there, I only managed to finds two muslims. There's few kebab restaurants but none of them serve halal food. When I ask about halal food, one of the workers of Turkish background said to me, "No, never in this country. Maybe in Warsaw but not here."

Malopolska Region Photography
Oswiecim, Malopolska Region, Poland
As one enters Auschwitz one of the first thoughts, strangely, is that one should turn vegetarian... indeed Auschwitz feels like a systematic abattoir... the idea that it was one meant for men, women and children is a sobering thought with no comparison ... when you see the masses of hair, glasses, shoes, clothes and bags of victims behind glass panes, or when you see the point at which they were hoarded off trains into gas chambers, when you see the oven in which bodies were burnt and ashes disposed in a pond, or when you see the various ingenious ways of torture, execution and imprisonment ... there is little left to think ... you may perhaps shed a tear and walk around in shock, or you may click photos and view things with historical interest... but most visitors, as they walk this most famous (infamous) of the Nazi camps, for the most part remain strangely silent ...

Costs in Malopolska Region
Krakow, Malopolska Region, Poland
For cheap places to stay there are usually people around the train station offering rooms in private houses. You have to go to Wawel (pronounced Vavel) Castle. Some say this is the heart of Poland and it is the past seat of Polish Kings. There is also a Smok (Dragon) that lives in the tunnel underneath the castle. Two day trips you have to make are 1. Oswiencim (Aushwitz). You can take a train from the center of Krakow, to within a couple of hundred meters of the front gates. You cannot miss this testament to the horrors of the Nazis and genocide. 2. Wielizcka salt mines. This is another trip possible by the efficient Polish railway system. These salt mines have been in service for hundreds of years and are now a Unesco world heritage site. As the miners took the salt out they carved statues and even a cathedral into the caves. Really amazing. Don't forget to listen to the trumpter in the main square and to have a great time. Krakow is fantastic!
