Travel Tips for Transportation in Malopolska RegionLublin, Malopolska Region, Poland How to get to Lublin from Warsaw? TRAIN: Many trains leave daily from the Warsaw main train station (WARSZAWA CENTRALNA). The only problem is that most of the trains are so called Fast Trains (Pociąg Pospieszny), which means there is no assigned seat and on some days (before holidays or Friday afternoon) the trains can be packed - it's wiser then to take a first class ticket as there is usually more free room. To make sure you have a reserved seat buy a ticket for a TLK Train - there is only one train a day to Lublin at about 2 pm but they have seat reservations and you can buy ticket online here: https://bilet.intercity.pl/irez/ The trip takes 2,5 hours and ticket is about 35-40 PLN one way. BUS: Near the Holiday Inn Hotel (street: Al. Jana Pawła II), next to the Złote Tarasy shopping mall there is a place where small passenger buses stop - they travel regularly to Lublin but on some days like before the weekend it's wise to book by phone +48 607 66 90 80 bet. 9:00-17:00. The most popular line is CONTBUS. The trip takes about 2 hours. The ticket is about 25 PLN. http://busy.info.pl/2,19503,40243,lublin,warszawa.html?object_id=26 Good tip? (+1) Kazimierz Dolny, Malopolska Region, Poland Small town at the side of Vistula river. Worth of visiting especially during summer time when two interesting festivals take place. Movie Festival "Dwa Brzegi" ("Two Shores") and Polish Folk Music Festival. You can take small ferry across the river which takes you to the old village and Castle in Janowiec. Good tip? (0) Oswiecim, Malopolska Region, Poland As far as I know, the cheapest place to stay in Oświęcim is Hotel Kamieniec (see http://www.hotel-kamieniec.com.pl/). Public transport to and from the hotel might be a pain (the buses are very rare), but the Auschwitz museum is within walking distance and if you want to go anywhere else you may find that the price of accomodation + taxi might still come out cheaper and more convenient than spending the night elsewhere. As long as you're not going outside of Oswiecim it's unlikely that a taxi trip will cost you more than around 15zl, so keep that in mind when you calculate costs. Most people, however, stay in Kraków (which has a lot more tourist sites than Oświęcim) and take the bus to the Auschwitz museum from there. As for the Auschwitz museum itself it is one of few places in my life which I left and thought "everyone should see this" and everyone I know who has been there says the same. Even if you're not the sort of tourist that does museums and tourist sites you will not regret coming to this one. Good tip? (0) Krzeszowice, Malopolska Region, Poland this town probably is not so interesting, but if you want to get to the castle in Tenczynek it is the station you have to leave your train. next to the station there is a sign which leads you on the route to the castle. Good tip? (0) Tenczynek, Malopolska Region, Poland if you want to go to the nearby castle, you have to be awared of the route you take - there is one which is quite long and runs not exactly to the castle, but the second one (shorter) is unpleasant - almost all the time next to the main road. better check trails on the map first and choose your own route through forest, up to the castle.
