Railway station is one of the most dangerous places in Katowice. It is ugly and dirty. Do not count on that booking-clerk will be speaking English... ask in English only young people or bring Polish conversation guide

Don't worry about buying tram or bus tickets! They rarely check!

if you get there by train, better immediately take the bus and go to the centre. it is under renovation, but the market square, the theatre and the castle have been already renewed.
if you love shopping, go to the one of shopping centres, but unfortunately - close to the biggest one - Sfera - there is a new one being build so it is all a building site.

Depend how you want to travel to Karpacz, if with a train you should get a cab from Zielona Gora, which costs arouns 100 zl.
there is no interaction with localsat all (maybe in bars or hotels), because it is a typical polish tourist place, no matter if its winter or summer. But of course espacially in winter there are way to many people.
Because it is a typical tourist town the people drink eat a lot and there are some bars and pubs, no discos. everyone will find something for themselfs, no matter if it is pizza or traditional pilish dish.

From Wroclaw airport: Take a bus 30-40 min. or taxi to town centre. City bus ticket-bilet autobusowy buy in small kiosk at airport. Go to bus station-stacja autobusowa 5min walk. Take a bus to Jelenia Gora . Bus to Jelania Gora is usually leaving every hour from stand 4. You need to buy ticket at bus staion. It takes 3hrs to get there. Travelling by train takes over 4 hrs. There is also minibus Krycha leaving from street near bus station which is a bit faster. Driver sells tickets. Minibus leaves from ulica Dawida. In Jelenia Gora bus station you can get taxi to Karpacz or another bus. You can buy ticket in bus. It takes around 50 min to get from Jelenia Gora to Karpacz. Bus leaves every hour.
