There are a few attractions (including a couple of palaces) in Zywiec but most outsiders don't know about them. The only reason for which most foreigners go to Zywiec is to visit the brewery. At least it should convince outsiders that Poles do know how to brew good beer. One can reach Zywiec either by bus or regular train (no fast trains stop at Zywiec). If one wants to come to Zywiec from Krakow, the riding the bus is the only direct route. If one wants to come to Zywiec by train, there are direct connections from Katowice and Bielsko-Biala.
