Travel Tips from people who've been to Cascais
Try to get to Cabo da Roca, the western most point of mainland Europe, for an amazing sunset, but be warned, the last bus leaves before dark, so you may have to hitchhike back to Cascais.  There should be lots of tourists with cars, so should be relatively easy, but take warm clothes incase you have to walk a bit, because it gets very chilly very quickly, especially with the ocean breeze.  In Cascais, the train station is massive, with trains going late into the night, to a multitude of places.  For the best Indian food I had in Europe walk down the only pedestrian street that comes off the roundabout at the train station, and find the little store on your right with the kebab stall out the front.  Don't know it's name, but the food is amazing! (and cheap)

There is a square called Lago de Camoes and it is filled with Restraunts that become bars in the evening. It is a great place to go to see a football game on a plasma screen and to get really great food.  It is a bit expensive but worth it. On the opposite side of the building is a small bar that has 1 euro beers and is the cheaper way to get drunk before hitting up the club up the road. Coconuts has something going off all the time. Salamandra bar is located above the beach and is one of the last bars in cascais to still have Pool/snooker tables and two plasma screen tvs, also great to go see a game on the television. Drinks here are also cheap and they serve Tex Mex food! Great View and great service!

Jardim do Frango -  one of the best sheap restaurants I have ever been to. just down near the harbour on the right, this place serves up the best Piri-Piri grilled chicken fries and Salad, and it such a great place to hang out with mates and watch the world go by. Dont expect amazing service, clean linens ( its paper) but expect great food Cascais HotDog, just by Boca do Inferno -  all i can say is, "THE BEST HOTDOGS IN THE WORLD" no arguing
