Travel Tips for Transportation in Estoril

Cascais, Lisbon & Surrounds Region, Portugal
Try to get to Cabo da Roca, the western most point of mainland Europe, for an amazing sunset, but be warned, the last bus leaves before dark, so you may have to hitchhike back to Cascais. There should be lots of tourists with cars, so should be relatively easy, but take warm clothes incase you have to walk a bit, because it gets very chilly very quickly, especially with the ocean breeze. In Cascais, the train station is massive, with trains going late into the night, to a multitude of places. For the best Indian food I had in Europe walk down the only pedestrian street that comes off the roundabout at the train station, and find the little store on your right with the kebab stall out the front. Don't know it's name, but the food is amazing! (and cheap)

Oeiras, Lisbon & Surrounds Region, Portugal
There are two good ways to get to Oeiras:
- private car along the seaside;
- take the train (Linha de Cascais).

The train runs frequently during the day and will save you the trouble of finding a place to park the car - and possibly pay a parking charge.

Although you can smoothly drive to Cabo da Roca, for those who don't have an own or rental car, the alternative is bus. There is a regulare service managed by the company SCOTT that links Sintra with Cascais, with a stop in Cabo da Roca. There is a # 403 bus ride every 90 minutes. From Sintra to Cabo da Roca the trip is about 45 minutes, while from Cascais to Cabo da Roca the trip is about 25 minutes.
Bot, Sintra and Cascais, have a fast and cheap train connection with Lisbon.
You can buy a regular ticket or a daily ticket that allows you to use SCOTT buses also to travel in Sintra.( all buses goes from the train station -in front of it)
