Barcelos isn't a popular stop for travelers making their way through Portugal. The few that do usually go to see the Museu Arqueológico. Otherwise travelers visiting the area tend to stick to more popular destinations such as Porto and Guimaraes. Know something about Barcelos? Travel Tips from people who've been to Barcelos

Tiny town that is know for the cockerel that is Portugal's national symbol. You can see giant decorated cockerels all over the place, very fun and colourful.

The town can be visited as a day-trip from Braga, 45 minutes by train, every hour. There are a lot of rather nice churches, but the best part I thought was the archaeological museum best thing there.
