Travel Tips from people who've been to Braga
Stay in Casa dos Lagos. It has only three rooms. It sits up on a hill overlooking this pretty town and the gardens of the villa cascade down the hill toward the town. A short walk away is the Bom Jesus church with its stunning baroque staircase. Your hostess Andrelina (?) will be happy to recommend restaurants, excursions, whatever. We planned to stay one night and stayed for three. Luckily, since it was October, the room was available for additional nights. Good tip? (0) there us a wonderful garden in the hart of the old city. very nice to relaxe after windowshopping in the small, interesting streets of braga. you also might want to plan in some extra time to visit the nearby castle with its fantastic view. Good tip? (0) Do not miss a visit to Bom Jesus do Monte. It is a long, but peaceful climb, or you can take the funicular to the top. The symbolism, and the views, are remarkable. Good tip?
