Carvoeiro is fantastic... Lovely weather, nice beaches and good meals. Most of the resaturants are very reasonable. The lil Italian restaurant on the hill was my favourite. Night life is quiet ish!!! Sullys bar and the Round up bar were great craic. The locals are nice but can be a lil cross at times. Shopping is very cheap, especially Decathalon if you want some sport gear.
