Travel Tips from people who've been to Bucharest
is a funny city, with a huge and cheap nighlife. The city is grey because of all the buildings built during the communism, streets are not always safe but not so much dangerous, is not the most beautiful city in romania but u can stop to see one of the biggest building in the world. The cost of life is cheap with LEU the courrency. People are not always friendly, u hav to be safe, but i met some beautiful ones that made me change my mind a little. the transportation are very good and cheap, i paid more and less 7 euros monthly for underground that connect all the main districts. The food is cheap and good, if like soups and vegetables there are a lot of markets with fresh food.

Bucharest has many interesting sights and walking around is a good way to take them in for the most part ... check out the huge structure built by Romania's erstwhile dictator whose surface imprint is believed to be second only to the Pentagon ... visit the relatively new Romainian writer's museum with photos of several Romanian poets and authors ... stay at Villa 11 with the family-like atmosphere, reasonable prices and Stefan, Deborah and their children taking care of you... in the city be careful of pickpockets and vicious dogs (a major nuisance) ...
