First thought to be inhabited during the Roman Empire, Cluj-Napoca is Romania's fourth largest city and one of its technology hubs.  Cluj-Napoca is the unofficial capital of the Transylvania region.  If you're visiting Cluj-Napoca, check out the interesting old Austro-Hungarian Empire architecture, or visit the various museums and the city's renowned Botanical Garden.
Travel Tips from people who've been to Cluj-Napoca
For me it's an amazing city to visit! The buildings are incredibly old. It is a city, even though life is like in the country (as in, in some place you may actually see people walking on the streets with their cows). There are great views of the whole city. The mountains are very close, and so are these cool salt baths. The nightlife is great!! Everyone is out during the weekends. The food is just plain delicious. There's a very beautiful botanical garden to visit and the old-village museum. There's a big park with a little lake and lots of places to walk through. If you go don't forget to go to a soccer game (just don't pick a team, since... bad things can happen)

Cluj-Napoca is basically a university town.  While the downtown area itself is pictoresque and has several old churches, parks, and squares, the city's true charm comes out after dark when the students hit the bars.  Obsession, Karma, and After Eight are more popular disco-style clubs, but some smaller bars (Under Construction, Janis) are also popular among the student crowd.
