Transylvania Transportation

The gateway of Maramures coming from Transylvania. Straight train links from Bucharest, Cluj and Timisoara. A very funny small train going to the former mines in the mountains and back is the main tourist attraction of this town.

This city has very good public transportation, trolley, cabs, buses. Be sure to visit the remnants of the Roman wall in the center of the city. You can catch a train that will take you to any part of the country and many of the surrounding countries from the local train station.

While traveling from Poland you need to have some romanian currency with you. Do not change your money on petrol stations just after crossing the borders.
