Kazan' Travel Guide

Has one of the worlds most modern underground tubes, have a look at it, you wouldnt expect it. Also try the various local dishes, some of them are ok some are really amazing.

In Kazan you should definitely go to one of the movie theaters for sladki popcorn, go to Mega or Koltso for shopping, try to see a Rubin soccer game (go decked out in their colors), the museum of the 1,000 year old city and definitely go to the Kazan Kremlin with a tour guide, they have some interesting tales...Want to interact with locals? Go to McDonalds! They're always there and love practicing their English. I love this city and I can't wait to go back.

Take a ride on the metro.  It was recently built to commemorate the 1,000th year anniversary of Kazan'.  The fare is very cheap and the stations are the most ornate metro stops I have ever seen.  The Kazan' metro consists of only one line with five stops (connects the working class/residential area into the core of the city).  Many of the stations depict Tatar legends in beautiful mosaics.
