Saint-Louis Travel Guide

Taxi's are very expensive around Saint-Louis. The price goes up when they have to go over a bridge, so ask them to stop before they enter the bridge to drive into town and pass the bridge on foot. Also: it's not true that the prices go up in the evening, at least not for locals, for tourists they will always try to make an unreasonable high price. Doubling of the price when it gets dark is absolutely not true, don't let them fool you! Though you might have to pay a little extra, otherwise you won't find a taxi back home.

Ancienne ville coloniale qui a vu son essort à l'époque du courrier postal & l'aventure Latécoere dans les années 40, reste une belle ville africaine et quelques vestiges de la base d'hydravions en face d'ailleurs de l'hotel Mermoz, enfin l'hotel de la poste restent  trés acceuillant. De dakar 4 heures de route par la nationnale

If you've never been to Africa, start with Senegal! People there are friendly, sincere, funny. Food is succulent and the landscape is just awsome! I love St-Louis for its colonial style (buildings), its fish specialities (food, food and more food!) and its nighlife! If u go/have been there, let me know how waw ur trip!
