Piran, Slovenia
the city has a very nice atmosphere. Near the harbor is a very nice and cheap fishrestaurant. Don't mis the city and take your time
Koper, Slovenia
Parencana near the railway station is great when you're hungry while going home from parties
Maribor, Slovenia
2 nice presents to bring back from Maribor are, a bottle of white wine or a bottle of pumpking seed oil. Their white wines have not yet been made popular but they are of very good quality. The oil is great for salads, specially with balsamic.
Ljubljana, Slovenia
By far one of my favorite places and definitely worth a visit. Its a beautiful city, small but clean and friendly. At night its all lit up and fairytale like. Food and drinks cheap, and there are lots of nice places to eat and drink along the river. The flower and fruit markets are really nice and worth a wander. We stayed at the Celica Hostel, it was great.
Domzale, Slovenia
Hotel Krona is pretty much the awesomest hotel in Domzale! :D
Piran, Slovenia
Piran is one of the most beautiful world cities. It is under UNESCOs protection. Only locals can enter with cars, otherwise it's close for traffic because of the narrow streets covered with cable stone. It is possible to ride a bike or scooter inside the city. There are lots of places to stay. For young travelers the best option is a hostel behind a lighthouse.
Bled, Slovenia
not an amazing hostel, but amazing hiking and lovely lake. It's almost like a cut-price switzerland in relation to the landscape. Cheap beer and beautiful views, and very friendly locals.I'd recomend this as a stop off, but head to lake Bohinj for a truely breathtaking part of europe.
Primostek, Slovenia
Where Lahinja meets Kolpa. There is a camping nearby and accommodation in The town of Metlika
Ljubljana, Slovenia
I love this city, and that is roughly what its name translates into English. One of Europe's smallest capitals, but IMO one of the best. It's clean and tidy and very welcoming with music and singing and a relaxed atmosphere. Some great eating places too. Nearby Lake Bled has to be visited for the awesome views. I try not to repeat-visit any destinations but if I had to, I'd definitely come here again.
Kobarid, Slovenia
Kobarid is known for famous WW1 Battle of Caporetto. Beside amazing nature of the Soča river, you can find there a very interesting and informative museum of WW1, as well as remains form Roman times. If traveling in the area, a museum definitely is a must see. Plus, if you are aiming at good fish food restaurant, then have a must stop at the "Topli Val" restaurant, which is located few hundred meters away from the museum - they really serve quality food and are very kind, speaking several languages. From Kobarid you can continue to Nadiža river, isolated camp in Podbela, or to Robidišče, which is Slovenia's most western village. From direction of Robič toward south you can cross the border and enter to Italy, visit old town Čedad or Cividale, and further on to Furlanija or Friulia. In July you will find two reggae festivals in the area, Rototom Sunsplash in Osoppo, near Udine (IT), and Soča Riversplash in Slovenia. Of course this is also the area for hiking on the mountains above Kobarid and surroundings. Oh..and when you are in Kobarid, taste Kobarid štruklje, sweet pastry....mmmmm
