02248I stayed here in 4 bedroom villa with private pool overlooked by table mountain. Beautiful area to be as near cape town, and en route to simonstown. Must visit Dunes down in sand dunes at the beach for food and long days of drinking wine !!!! Like a surf shack on the beach. Can visit seal island on boat from hout bay. Cheap propery here. Lovely place.

0355Houtbaai (Dutch for Wood Bay) is one of the top surfing locations in South Africa and one of the 16 known big wave spots in the world. It is known to the local surfing community as "Dungeons" and the Red Bull Big Wave Africa competition is held here yearly (between May and August, when the waves are right)
