4 anni fa era come piaceva a me: fatiscente! ora per il bene della gente che ci vive è stato ristrutturato.

Travel Tips for Cadiz

Cadiz, Andalucía Region, Spain
the place to relax and enjoy a slower pace. there is not much to "see" or "do" as a tourist which is a blessing. i met so many new friends at the hostel and locally that I felt like I lived there and almost forgot I was on the way to Morocco. the walk along the sea is beautiful and walking circles around the small town. I hear in February there is a crazy Carnavale that I never made it back for. there is a magical hostel called Quo Qadis that is owned by a cat named Enrique. He's like everyone's favorite wacky uncle. When I was there you could sleep on the roof for 3 or 4 euro.

Cadiz smells....haha. The wind blows quite heavy, so make sure you've got something with you to stay warm. Hard to find a parking lot. Nice walk along the sea, little cafés across the street - not that much possibilities along the sea.

Cadiz is a beautiful laidback city in Andalucia and famous for its nice view over the atlantic ocean. Nice tapas-bars and little restaurant and don't miss the tower in the middle of the old citypart. You've got a great view over all the city.

Cadiz is allegedly the oldest continually inhabited cities in Europe. Personally, I think that if you're going to visit the area, go CouchSurf in El Puerto de Santa Maria and take a ferry to Cadiz for the day. Cadiz is just an old industrial port city.

since i live in cadiz i can't really give a neutral opinion but i am an immigrant soooooo the fact i fell totally in love with this city can not explain enough the cathedral, the bridge, la caleta, cadiz museum, carnaval, semana santa everything is exciting about cadiz they have a wonderfull nightlife with lovely open air disco's, and cheap alcohol so nothing but positive notes EXCEPT its fucking expensive to find accomodation casa caracol is a great place to stay a youth hostel were you have the choice between group rooms private rooms or hammacks!!! If you do decide to come here dont forget to eat a el arte serrano!!!Great tapas real cheap

The only place in the world I actually got lost :), tall houses and narrow streets make it impossible to orientate yourself with a help of any landmark. I was saved when I saw a church tower in the middle of the city, climbed up and found out where I have to go, I guess the map is sometimes a must have :))
