Travel Tips from people who've been to Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Visitors and holidaymakers to the island of  Tenerife often miss out on many of its attractions because they simply don't realise what is on offer or know how easy it is to get one of the cheap bus services. The green TITSA buses are easy to recognise and they can take you to nearly every location on the island. TITSA buses offer a 50% discount on long journeys if you have a Bono bus pass, which you simply insert in the machine by the driver whilst telling him or her where you want to travel to. The money you have to pay is automatically deducted and the amount you have left is shown on your Bono for you to see.You can buy them from the bigger bus stations and a range of shops around the island. Bonos are priced at €12 or €30 and represent an incredible savings and the way to travel if you really want to see Tenerife.

This is the place to stay if you go to Tenerife. This is a real town with real people living there. You can go to several restaurants to eat the local food, instead of the "international hotel" menu's you can get other places. Be sure to try the potatoes which are cooked differently than all other places, and like all other small islands you should go for meat from small animals. And last but not least, get up at sunrise and whatch the mountain where the sun hits before it hits where you are. It is very beautifull.

Nice city on the east coast of Teneriffe. There´s really not that much to see in Santa Cruz, except the parliament house and the Caladravas audorium (reminds me a bit of the Sydney opera house). So visit the near by pyramides of Guimaraes or the Loro Park in Puerto de la Cruz. Nice shopping possibilities though from small boutiques to big malls and some good restaurants. Try local tapas or nice fish with"papas arrugadas" (wrinkled potatoes) with alioli.
