Travel Tips from people who've been to Galicia Region
If looking for prehistoric monuments in the province of A Coruna, the tourist information will most likely send you to the important dolmen of Dombate in the area of Laxe (Lage). I won't say it's a bad pick, but nowadays you can't see this dolmen in it's natural environment anymore. A preservation- and visitors centre are being build around it, which ensures it loses almost all of it charms. So what others do I have? Have a look at the dolmen dos Mouros in the village of Aprazadoiro. A tiny village a few kilometers southwards of Laxe. It feels like tiny adventure as its quite unknown and you'll see a perfect dolmen in a quiet, natural setting. I found it rather rewarding for a small detour and from there on you are quite close to Torre da Moa, the lookout point with its bizarre stone on top.    The dolmen is situated on the hill just above the village. So drive into the village, with is narrow roads, follow the signs (you can always ask the locals) and try to park your car somewhere. Close to the spot where the short hiking trails starts there's an abandoned famershouse. Ideal to park the car as you will bother nobody.  Hike up the hill with on your right side a small piece of forest. After a minute or two, three you will reach a crossing at the point the forest on your right side doesnt go anymore further uphil. Here you should go right, instead of what the arrow on the stone in the trail tells you to. It's about a two minutes walk from there to the right.  If you hike a little bit further ahead, like the sign tells you, and then take a right, you will also see the dolmen but then from the backside and about 15/20 meters away. You can't overcome that short distance so easily in the summer. It's full with plants, quite high, with stains that even go through jeans. So take my advice and turn direct right at the crossing. Enjoy and good luck!
