Travel Tips from people who've been to Santiago de Compostela
Parador Santiago de Compostela, also known as Hostal dos reyes catolicos, a must  to see and stay.  My daughter got very sick during our stay and the local Hospital Real admitted her, administered a shot and all necessary medications with just a thank you from me. I offered to pay and they declined. They did not bother to submit a claim to my insurance company either.  Their farewell comment: '"you are visiting us and we want you to come back".  Of course we will.

Santiago DC is a small city in the north west of Spain, with a huge cathedral adjacent to the Galician Parliament Building. It's probably too small to visit for more than a few days, but it pulls in a large amount of tourists due to its religious connections (I'm not religious myself).  The Cidade Da Cultura was being built during my visit there.  Nice surrounding scenery too.

If you are lucky enough to to have two sunny days in a raw you will discover an incredibly beautiful city. Take a walk in the small alleys of the historical center and discover one of the most important cathedrals in Europe. Don't forget to stop in a small restaurant and get some seafood with a good local beer
